Sponge water bombs are fun!
This week I bought some cheep sponges from the grocery store. I took 3 sponges in different colors and cut them into 5 strips for a total of 15 strips and tied around the middle really tight with some ribbons. I made 4 total one each for my girls and my nieces. We had a blast dunking the sponges in water (we made really cold by adding ice), and throwing them and playing catch. Everyone got cooled off. Lots of laughter and summer fun.

blackberry picking
i love that my 8 year old is a little old fashion, a little traditional, a little modest, and a little simple too. i love that she still likes to hold my hand, i like that she is happy when she is with family and can make fun of just about anything. i love that she is resourceful and when she sees a backyard full of blackberries, she wants to pick them and and makes pies and other fruit desserts. this morning we out our long sleeves on and made our way through the thorns to get the ripe berries. i am looking forward to the next few weeks of delicious berries.

We had alot of fun (minigolf, beach, swings, shopping, ice cream, and spending time with grammie). We sooooooo didn't want to come home but I have to go back to work Friday so we made the 3 hour trip home today. I love summer!

Tiger game, check up, and the Detroit Zoo.
This last week we had a little get away...to Detroit. Laine's Metabolic Specialist is there and the Children's hospital. We decided to head over there the day before and catch a Tiger game and stay overnight. It was so fun. I got a really awesome deal for a hotel on Hotwire and stayed at a 4 star and it was beautiful. Laine walked in the room and said..."oh fancy momma" What a little cutie! The game was fun and the Tigers won! (I got great tickets for 10 bucks each). We got up in the morning and went to Laine's checkup. We met with everyone and they are so happy with how she is doing we don't return for a whole year! Yea for us! We might miss them though, they are so wonderful to us and supportive. Then we headed to the Detroit Zoo in the afternoon. It was a blast.
