dry wall dust

i am so tried of dry wall dust and sanding, i am tired of the little coat of white on everything in our basement, i am tried of wearing a mask and feeling like i can't breathe when i try to help.
i however am not tried of...the amazing job my husband is doing at finishing our basement. he has worked so hard and many evenings so i can have my own craftroom/office. we will have a family room, playroom, office for hubby, craftroom for me and a bathroom. i am thankful for hubby's good friend who has helped and made the job get done faster and easier. i have a great hubby and appreciate all he has done even though sometimes i complain about the dust.

easter eggs

I loved decorating easter eggs as a kid and i love coloring eggs now with my own girls. We are going to disney in another week and will be gone the week before Easter. We will celebrate Easter at the most magical place in the world. So we needed to have some fun before we go and this last weekend we colored eggs. The colors are so much more bright than when I was a kid. It was fun! Happy Spring!

Laughter LivesThis post is part of "Laughter Lives! Tuesday" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check our their blog to read everyone else's "Laughter Lives!" posts.
kids say the funniest things ever. laine says alot of funny things and it has been a blast to catch it on my new little camcorder. this week i was "interviewing" her about jesus. watch the video. it is funny. apparently she had a little talk with jesus that it was a little dangerous to die on the cross. she also could not believe he wasn't wearing a shirt....anyhoo glad to know all the bible stories have helped. :) (Don't forget to pause the music in the sidebar...)

happy saint patty's day

Paige and cousin before school today. No outfit is complete without bobbing clover and leprechaun headbands with matching four leaf necklaces! We had lucky charms for breakfast too. These outfits almost didn't happen though. Here is the story.
I never thought Paige would be interested in something like these decorations because she never likes to bring attention to herself. So I never bought anything "green" for today. Well last night I got home from work at 8:00pm and she tells me to take her to the mall for bobbing headbands. Sorry dear... but I just got home and it is almost time for bed. She was disappointed but went to bed anyway. So fast forward to this morning...
I was suppose to work today. I was mad I got cancelled and couldn't fall back to sleep. The night charge nurse called me about 10 minutes before I walk out the door. So I had my shower and everything done. I got back in bed and couldn't fall asleep because of the late call. I decided to go to grocery store and try to find some St. Patty's headbands. I found them and she was thrilled when she woke up the the goodies. what a little blessing after all....at least it made her day.
p.s. I bought the same goodies for Laine and she refuses to wear them to preschool so she wanted her cousin to have them.

a big day

today paige got her ears pierced! we have been talking about it for a year now. we told her when she turned 7 last year she could. she wasn't ready. so we waited. she is having another birthday soon and we offered again. today when she got home from school we somehow started talking about earrings and girl stuff and she decided. she wanted to "talk" to the girl at the earring store about how it. she asked all kinds of questions in a very mature way. how much it hurts? how does it go in? how long does it take? and all about the whole process. the ear piercer girl was very patient and answered all her questions and then said are you ready? "yes i am" paige said to her. she picked light blue sparkly ones and so cute! i remember the day my mom took my sister and i to get ours pierced and will remember this mommy daughter bonding special time today too. P.S. she was very brave

goldfish tank

Today something happened to the gold fish tank and no one seem to know what happened. I was called to Paige's room "mom come quick Paige's gold fish tank is leaking". Paige had just been in the living room so I know she doesn't know what happened. We were called when Paige was halfway down the hallway. So we run down to Paige's room and there is a big crack in the side of her tank and water leaking everywhere. We put the fish in another tank and cleaned up the mess. I then asked Laine what happened (knowing her answer would be interesting...) She says "I don't really know mom, maybe Swiper the fox or something" (Dora the Explorer's stealing sidekick). Interesting Laine because I didn't see Swiper in here only you. "Hummmm, I don't really know" was the only answer I got. I tried to be calm and didn't yell or anything. I tried to explain I would rather have a honest answer. I asked again "Laine do you know what happened to the fishtank?" Yes mommy...it has a crack in in"... yeah thanks Laine I knew that.
